Coffee was first discovered in the forests of Kaffa, in southwestern Ethiopia — the region that gave the plant, and eventually the world, its name. We take our name, and our standard, from that heritage.
Ethiopia produces extraordinary coffee under dozens of proud, independent brands — each with its own roast, its own region, its own following at home. But for an importer or roaster abroad, reaching them means chasing many small producers, in many places, with no single point of trust.
